As part of our continued efforts to develop XING we use a number of different software solutions, including the JIRA bug tracker and Atlassian corporate wiki confluence. XING also hosts over 240 user groups in its groups section allowing people to discuss everyday business topics as well as specific topics such as software.
As an Atlassian user and member of the Atlassian User Group Hamburg, we at XING decided it’d be a great idea to provide a venue for Atlassian users to meet up. So last Thursday evening the event room was freed up to host the event organized by Christian Dähn, head of the user group, which was attended by around twenty members as well as Sven Peters, the German Atlassian ambassador. That’s right – Atlassian also has an ambassador scheme just like XING! Atlassian’s ambassadors help to connect enthusiasts with one another and act as a point of contact if they have any requests or other feedback. (more…)

XING first gave companies, organizations, and associations the opportunity to create a professional online profile called a Company Profile back in April 2009. Since that time we’ve continued to develop our Company Profiles feature by incorporating your feedback, which of course includes more interaction options. The latest change we’ve implemented also falls into this category as posts in PLUS Company Profiles can now be commented on by any XING member, which is a great way for companies to interact with their customers and respond to queries and feedback from customers, potential job candidates, and cooperation partners.
For XING members this represents a new feedback channel that allows them to get in direct contact with companies. (more…)
