Company Profiles: Now also available to freelancers and as a free basic version

A potential future employer, a new work order, a much sought-after cooperation: Companies are an essential part of a business network like XING where the focus is on connecting and maintaining contact with business professionals.

A lot of XING members therefore use the Companies section to quickly and easily find contact persons or to get the latest information via the company’s updates. Since November 2009, companies have been able to actively provide interesting content to more than 9 million members.

XING wants to improve this service for both companies and users, and the best way for us to do this is to find out what you would like us to change or add.

Our aim: Turn your requests into reality

Over the last few months we have read various tickets in our UserVoice feedback system, conducted surveys, and invited customers to take part in so-called usability tests.

As a result of the above and other user feedback from the XING Group and blog, we noticed the following:

• Freelancers would like to have more presence on XING
• XING members would like to be able to create Company Profiles themselves
• XING members would like the option of appearing on more than one company’s employee list – in line with current employment trends
• Our search feature has room for improvement, and users should be able to find companies by searching by product and/or service and not just by company name

The next stage of XING’s Company Profiles has evolved from these needs, and we have now incorporated many of your requests.

What’s new with Company Profiles

From now on, all companies and freelancers can create and manage their own Company Profile. Up until now there was a limit of five (automatic aggregation) or two members (manual profile activation).

BASIC Company Profiles are available with prices starting at €0. Our aim here is to offer freelancers and small businesses in particular the opportunity to present themselves effectively within a professional environment and build up a key part of their online reputation. BASIC Company Profiles offer the option of creating a digital business card, uploading a corporate logo, and providing a detailed description of the company including facts about products and services as well as references. A number of HTML tags are also available to customize the design.

STANDARD Company Profiles are ideal for companies wanting to increase their online presence to make it easier for people to find them by also being able to search for their products and services. Companies can also add tags to their profile to make it easier for potential customers to find them during a search. As well as all this, you can add a personal touch to your profile by posting a list of direct contact persons at your company. For a limited time only, you can get a STANDARD Company Profile at the introductory price of just €14.90 per month.

Companies with a PLUS Profile enjoy even more presence within the XING network, as well as more contact persons and more tags. On top of this, PLUS Profiles provide you with an update feature to let customers, partners, and employees know about the latest company news coupled with Twitter account integration.
