Having just launched a new version of our iPhone app very recently, I’m excited that we’re unveiling our app for the latest BlackBerry smartphones today. This latest launch of ours is in response to frequent requests from throughout the XING community.

It’s free-of-charge and enables smartphone users (many of whom are business professionals) to access their personal with much more ease when on the road. Besides access to all contact data and “News from your network”, the application lets you read and respond to all your XING messages as well.

One highlight that I am particularly proud of is its capability to synchronize individual contact data from your personal network on XING with your own address contacts on your BlackBerry.

Free download for BlackBerry smartphones at www.xing.com

In addition to English, the XING app supports German, Spanish, Turkish and Italian. The app can be downloaded for free directly to the user’s BlackBerry smartphone by simply by visiting the XING mobile website. Simply type in www.xing.com. The appropriate version for a specific BlackBerry smartphone model is automatically detected. The XING app requires an Internet-enabled BlackBerry smartphone running OS Version 4.2 or later with at least 64 MB internal memory and 170 KB of available memory.

I read your post on my BlackBerry (after the tweet from XING_COM). Clicking the http://www.xing.com link in the article didn’t work, the page did not load. I had to manually type in the link to get the XING homepage to load. I downloaded and installed the app (this is a Storm from Vodafone DE). The installation worked fine. When I now try to run the app, it displays the error “Connection failed!” when it’s supposedly starting the browser to let me log in. So it doesn’t work. When I navigate to the XING website through the web browser, I can log in just fine. Do you have any suggestions for troubleshooting?

It seems to be that our webservice was not available at that time or your BlackBerry had a connection problem. Try again please and if it’s still a problem please come back to us!
Thanks!

Ich bekome immer einen “Resource could not be found” http-Fehler.

@Karsten Rieke
I’m getting the same error today, yet I have no problems accessing the internet or tweeting. It doesn’t appear to be a connection problem with the device, but rather the software. Unlike other applications – e.g. Ubertwitter – I can’t seem to choose the connection type though. Might that be the problem?

I get a internal server error when I am trying to login over the browser (which was started by the xing app on my BB Bold).
