Hello out there – my name is Ingo Helmke, and I’ve been a Product Manager at XING AG since July 2008. Since I’ve been here, I’ve worked on improving and expanding XING Jobs, in particular integrating videos into XING Jobs with the assistance of our partner JobTV24, and was involved in the relaunch of XING Marketplace as XING Jobs. Before I started at XING, I worked as a Manager of Product Design at POET AG, and before that as division manager of User Interface Design at Pixelpark AG.
The new feature allowing you to create search alerts for the XING Jobs section, will make it even more comfortable to find the right position: Once you’ve created a search alert, jobs will sent to you by email whenever they are posted. You can create up to five job alerts in this way – free of charge, and of course you can cancel them at any time.
Here’s how it works:
All you do is run a search according to the criteria that matter to you (such as “London”, “Sys Admin”, and “JAVA”).

As usual, you enter your search criteria first. Notice the red "New" signon the right of the advanced search? (Click on the image to enlarge)
From the results page, just click on the button “Get jobs by email”, and presto! Your job alert is set. You’ll receive an email from XING whenever new jobs are posted that match all your search criteria (no more than one email a day, though).

Right above the search results: the button to get new posting via e-mail. (Click on the image to enlarge.)
You can see your saved job alerts on the “Jobs Search” page (the third sub-item under “Jobs” – nifty new header, by the way, isn’t it?). Click on the alert to run it, and see the latest results. If you don’t want to receive matches from a particular alert any more, just click the “delete” button on the right.

Once you've saved a search, you can manage it on the advanced search page.
We’ve said it before, and with job alerts as well: We want to know what you think! The easiest way for us to tally your feedback is with the UserVoice portal – just click on the feedback button on the far left side of the Jobs Overview page. You can share your feedback, your suggestions, and your criticism as well. Stay tuned for more exciting features from XING Jobs.
Good luck searching XING Jobs, and I hope you enjoy the job alerts!

Sorry if this is a little off topic, but this post is at the request of Gertrude K.: When you’re looking for help in finding a job, it’s important to understand the differences among employment services. Many terms, such as employment agency, personnel placement service, executive search firm, or executive counseling service are used interchangeably. Find out what services a firm offers, how much the services cost, and who pays. If you’re required to pay the fee, find out what you’ll owe if the employment service fails to find you a job or any leads. I hope this helps you Getrude. ————-You’re welcone, Gerry – Your Job Guy
